While professionals and many house owners recommend air ventilation cleaning as an essential aspect of keeping your home clean, healthy and enjoyable, there are many people doubting that this activity is truly necessary. There are, of course, arguments against doing it, as there are arguments against anything if you think a little about it. First of all, you have to spend money, and not just a few nickels. A complete cleaning cycle can cost a couple of hundred pounds, which is not throwaway money, especially in the current economy. Then, it’s all the hassle associated with the process. A team will come to your house, will set up all kind of gear and will disrupt the regular routines around your house. They might work during the night, but that means that you will have to sleep at some friend’s place or go to a hotel. Or, of course, withstand the noise and stuff. On the other hand, you should consider that air duct cleaning will save you money on the long term and will make the air in your house cleaner. The need for deep cleaning kitchen is directly related to the type of exposure your house has to the harmful influences. May it be dust, pests and even smoking. If you have parties often and everyone smokes, you might have to clean the air ducts cleaner, as the smoke will gather fast in your ducts and you have to clean them more often than people who don’t smoke. Also, if around your house there is construction under way, you will have to consider air duct cleaning much more often. Where there’s construction work, there’s debris and dust, which is a silent assassin that will creep up the ducts of your house. Before you know it, the air quality inside your house will be much worse, for something that’s outside your area of decision. Even more bothersome, the air quality in your house depends also on the overall climate of the area you live in. If throughout the year there’s a lot of rain and moisture around the house, the chance for mold to accumulate in ducts is bigger and thus the risks (allergies, throat problems, infections) increase for you and your family. So what’s there to gain if you choose to clean the ducts on a regular basis? First and foremost, health. The air in your house can be filled with dust and germs and eventually this overwhelming flow of disease will affect you and your family. Your immune system might fall eventually under the constant attacks of viruses and you’ll have to spend a lot of money of meds and you’ll be confined in bed. Also, the air in the house will smell better after a complete duct cleaning routine. Last, but not least, you will save money on central heating and air conditioning bills. The air flow is much better if the ducts are clean and thus less energy is necessary to pump hot air through the vents. The cost of central heating is dependent on the physical integrity of the system it uses to propagate through the house. All in all, it’s very useful to clean the air ducts at least one time per year- the results will be immediate and on the long run you’ll definitely save money.
